It's kinda odd how, although I'm living in the country with one of the greatest abilities to interact with other countries, whether through the massive amount of Internet in the US, cellular devices, or transportation, I still feel somewhat disconnected with the world. Like, I just read about the heartland-rimland model, and north america isn't included anywhere on it. It's sort of like, oh, America is this huge superpower, but in reality, it's just this baby 200-year old country that rests across the ocean from all of its parents. The eastern hemisphere is full of countries compared to the western hemisphere. Europe is next to Africa, which is next to Asia, which can reach Australia. Also, it seems as if nothing happens in the western hemisphere. No wars, nothing much really going on except for a recession that doesn't seems to visibly affect me a lot.
...
Yeah, if you can't tell, I kinda wanna go live in the eastern hemisphere...I know I should be grateful to this country that took my family in during the Vietnam war, but still...
Huh...
